A natural talent, Karin Dailey, began her photography career shooting some of Boston’s best bands in every bar and venue in the city. She learned the basics of lighting and composition from the front row, working for the local radio stations and promoters, shooting the Beach Boys, Alice in Chains and every musician in between. Through her connections to the music world, she shot her first wedding….

A wedding means love, family, emotion, color, friends, tradition, fun, expression, tears, laughter and beauty. Karin’s awareness and artistic ability allows her to capture these things in a fresh and creative way.

When asked what was most enjoyable about shooting weddings, Karin answered, “I think the moments that are completely overwhelming with emotion are special. The world is full of turmoil and stress, and yet people are still taking the time to celebrate their love for each other. When a father looks at his daughter in her beautiful gown for the first time, the glow of pride on his face is so powerful. A tearful exchange of vows between two people is another time when I have a hard time containing my own tears behind the camera. There are also small moments when just the placement of hands or a glance can make a photograph full of memories.”

She’d love to shoot weddings in cool places like Italy or Jamaica or Hawaii. Just saying.

After some exposure to the fast paced wedding industry, Karin has found a passion for fashion photography and retouching. Model Mayhem! She’ll retouch your images with her magic wacom tablet.

Karin Dailey is a graduate of Boston University’s Center for Digital Imaging Arts (CDIA) professional photography certificate program, where she excelled in lighting, portrait and Photoshop courses. She is also the 2009 Winner of The National Association of Photoshop Professionals (NAPP) GURU AWARD in the artistic category!

I hate talking in the 3rd person. :) I like mob movies and mint chocolate chip ice cream.
